Ingrid Gorrie was born in Linz, Austria, and immigrated with her family to Brisbane, Australia in 1983. She started writing poetry when she was a teenager.

Cooking, and trying out new recipes are another passion. From 2003 to 2008 Ingrid's recipes were read weekly on Radio 4BC and enjoyed an avid audience.
